If race doesnt matter then why the heck is everyone always talking about it/making a big deal about it?

Something tells me Obama meant for those Wrights remarks to leak out. So that the whole race issue will be overblown, to get people talking about it and to vote out of guilt.

If u want to manipulate someone to do something, make them feel guilty about something, even if it has nothing to do with the issues involved. If someone feels guilty they can be more easily manipulated.

First, I do not believe in %26quot;races%26quot; per se; we%26#039;re all part of the human race. I think what is interesting about people are their respective cultures. Cultures should be celebrated, but we%26#039;re all part of the human race. I also see it as a sign of sophistication when people realize that there is only one race.

I think that the study of different cultures should be mandatory in American schools; i.e., pick one or two to study throughout your school life, including a language or two. Bottom line: a more knowledgeable society is a more sophisticated society.

You may be right. But %26#039;race%26#039; does still matter to a lot of people, whether or not they try and deny it or confuse it with other issues.
Reply:Self-importance; arrogance; superiority complexes; ignorance...and ironically-religion.
Reply:Race matters. Just ask any Hutu about Tutsis, or Serb about Croat, or Turkman about Han Chinese. They, and many others are all caught up in the idiotic delusion that what you are called is important. In fact, only what you do is important.
Reply:Well, race does matter. I think it%26#039;s silly how people try to pretend people don%26#039;t have different races in attempt to combat racism. Of course we are all different, and that%26#039;s a good thing- it%26#039;s what makes the world go round. When people ignore race- that%26#039;s when race begins to be abused. Ignorance breeds fear, and when people begin to fear a certain skin color you get things like the KKK. When you try and ignore race and say that everyone is exactly the same, I think you kinda freak out when you find out that everyone is not the same, which brings abuse and taking advantage of race.
